After moving home to Longview, I received my teaching certification from LeTourneau University and began teaching early childhood students at Trinity. After eleven years teaching, I returned to the admission office as Director of Admission for Trinity. I enjoy introducing prospective families to TST and assisting them as they get to know the school and complete the application process.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family and friends, cooking, traveling, watching my twins compete in sports, and visiting my oldest child at TCU in the fall for football games.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Texas Christian University in 1997 (Go Frogs!). I’ve had quite a fun and broad range of jobs throughout my life, including serving as an event planner at an internationally renowned political think-tank in Dallas, doing marketing for a major East Texas hospital system and working for my family’s grocery business based in Tyler. Before moving back to Longview a few years ago, I served a stint in New York, where I was given a once in a lifetime opportunity working as a personal assistant for an award winning actress. Aside from my professional career, you can usually find me entertaining in my home or gathering at a place where family and friends are!

I graduated from Trinity School of Texas in 2000 before heading to Louisiana State University in Shreveport to earn a B.S. degree in Marketing. After being out of college a while, I really wanted to work in education and went through Region 7 to obtain my teaching certificate. I feel extremely blessed to be here at Trinity and love getting up to come to TST. Prior to making my way back to TST, I worked in newspaper advertising sales all through college and then went on to be a medical sales representative. I wear many hats at TST and enjoy every minute of it. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, Rance. We have two beautiful daughters, Sophie and Lily Belle. I love animals and am always trying to find homes for stray animals and animals at the shelter. We have five dogs, three cats, eight chickens, four hermit crabs and many fish. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, camping, working with my Scentsy business, and sewing and embroidering.

    Jessica Wilkinson

Head of Early Childhood and Lower School

    University of Oklahoma
    B.A. & M.S.

Year Started at TST - 2012

    Bio

I have the honor of serving as Trinity’s Head of Early Childhood and Lower School.  I attribute my smooth transition to East Texas and calling Longview home all to the loving family we call Trinity.  After graduating from Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, I crossed the Red River for nine years attending the University of Oklahoma.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Education and Master Degree in Curriculum, Supervision and Administration in the School of Education.  I taught first grade for four years in Norman Public Schools.  After completing my master’s, I returned to Texas where I taught second grade for seven years at Plano ISD and All Saints Episcopal School in Fort Worth.  My time at All Saints was a gift in which I had the opportunity to experience faith-based education, just like I did while growing up attending Parochial School for twelve years.  I was reminded about the important balance of academic excellence and a nurturing environment that I believe Trinity exemplifies.  I am proud to say my husband is a graduate of TST, and with much joy, we will have the privilege to watch our two daughters experience Trinity from Early Childhood through Upper School.  In addition to enjoying family time with these three Titans, I also love to read, cook and travel!

    Gary Whitwell

Head of School and Head of Middle School and Upper School

    Stephen F. Austin State University

Year Started at TST - 2011

    Bio

Bachelor of Arts – Stephen F. Austin State University
Master of Education – Stephen F. Austin State University

I am Gary Whitwell.  Working at TST provides me tremendous satisfaction.  It is incredibly fulfilling to see children and students from two-years-old through seniors in upper school grow and learn on the same campus.  Students at TST are nurtured and led to develop their minds, bodies, and spirits by a talented and dedicated faculty and staff.  Many schools say it, but at TST we live it.  TST is a family.

My hobbies include attending TST plays, concerts, and sporting events.  I also enjoy playing the guitar, golf, and vegetable gardening.  My wife, Delfina, and I are active members of Trinity Episcopal Church and have made many wonderful friends there.  We also treasure the time we spend with our children and grandchildren.

    Bio

It was obvious from an early age that working with children was my calling. From helping with the babies my mom used to keep when I was only two years old, to working in the two year old classroom at TST, kids are my joy and passion!
At TST, I have served in various capacities over the last 11 years. My early childhood experience gives me the knowledge and desire to help the two-year-olds succeed at learning their ABC’s and much more.
When I'm not at TST, I'm spending time with my family. I love to cook and I especially love to share my meals with my fiancé! I also enjoy traveling and hope to visit Belize one day!

    Bio

During my time here at TST, I have been in the two-year-old Early Childhood program.
I bring 34 years of teaching experience, ranging from two-year-olds through fourth grade in both Illinois and Texas. Most of those years were in public schools working with students with multiple handicaps, hearing impaired, intervention programs, Physical Education and Fine Arts.
During my free time, I love to go camping with friends and family. I really enjoy spending time making crafts and quilts.  When I'm not searching for exciting new ideas to use in my classroom, I'm reading a good book.
Lucky for me, if I could pick my dream job, it would be right here in the two-year-old classroom at TST!  There is no better feeling than having the privilege of helping to instill the love of learning at the very beginning of a child's educational career!

Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in math and reading. Upon graduation, I went back to my hometown in Newton, TX and taught side by side with many of the teachers that inspired me. I have been in the education system for over 20 years, and have had the pleasure of teaching Trinity students for seven of those years. I am married with two wonderful children, Bryce and Taylor. Bryce, in the 10th grade, has attended Trinity since he was in kindergarten. Taylor, in the 7th grade, has attended Trinity since she was three. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, swimming, fishing and cooking out. Bio

I have always dreamed of being a teacher. After spending most of my childhood forcing my little brother and my neighbors to “play school” with me and begging for an overhead projector every year for Christmas, I finally achieved my dream of teaching. I completed my teaching certification through LeTourneau in 2005. I have been at Trinity for almost ten years, teaching first and third grade. There is nothing better than seeing one of “my kids” learn something new. The thing I love about TST is the warm family atmosphere. I’m so thankful that my own two little ones are able to attend TST. Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, reading, watching movies, enjoying various sporting events, and having fun!

I have a BA degree from Texas Christian University in Education. I started out as Parent – Teacher Council President for three years which brought me into teaching here in 1991. I have been teaching First Grade since then. I love every day with my first graders. They keep me grounded and teach me so much.
I have lived in Longview most of my life. I have been married for 37 years and we have three grown daughters and five precious grandchildren. My hobbies are being with family, friends, and gardening. As you can see, Trinity is family to us.

    Bio

I began my career life as a professional firefighter/EMS in downtown Houston for the city fire department. After 12 years in the fire service, I entered a business partnership with a high school friend. Blessed with success in that venture, I was able to attend SFASU, where I earned my B.A. with a double major of History and Political Science and a M.A. in History. For the next fifteen years, I instructed at the middle and high school levels, as well as serving as assistant high school principal and adjunct faculty for Kilgore College.

Recruited for mid-management and executive posts for two corporations and a major medical center in Southern California, I served just over ten years in the Golden State before returning to Texas.

In Dallas, I served as Logistic, Purchasing and OSHA Compliance Manager for a zoological construction corporation. When my dad was diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s, I returned home to East Texas to assist my family with his care.

Throughout these experiences, I consider the time I spent teaching to have been the most personally rewarding and consider the opportunity to teach again here at Trinity to be a blessing I pray to be a worthy steward of.

This is my 36th year in education. I spent twenty-five years teaching middle and high school math in two area schools, Harleton (2 years) and Ore City (23 years). For most of those years, I was a member of the coaching staff. After twenty-five years in the classroom, I decided it was time for a change, and I accepted a position in the Educational Technology department at Region 7 Education Service Center in Kilgore. While there, I worked as a technology trainer and worked with grant programs that put technology in the schools we served. I spent seven years at Region 7, and then retired from public education. Immediately afterwards, I accepted the job I now have at Trinity, primarily teaching middle school math. This is my fourth year at Trinity.
I have a number of passions. First and foremost is my faith in God. Second is my family. Third is my job. I really like what I do here at Trinity. I love to travel, especially to Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Crested Butte, Colorado. I also like cars and motorcycles.
My wife and I live in Longview, and ‘suffer’ from empty nest syndrome.

After receiving my engineering degree, I had many opportunities to work for some great companies like ExxonMobil, BASF, and Eastman. My early career mainly focused on gas separation and specialty chemicals. These opportunities allowed me to live in different cities and travel for my job, and eventually led me to Longview and much closer to my hometown of Haughton, Louisiana. Shortly after moving to Longview, I met my husband Blake and decided to stay in the area and make the career change from engineering to teaching and bring some of my industry experience into the classroom. I taught middle school science here at Trinity for four years and enjoyed being able to pursue a hands-on approach to teaching, introducing lab experiments as much as possible. Now I have the opportunity to teach Upper School science and continue bringing my industry experience and knowledge into the classroom. When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling with my husband, watching college sports (especially Mississippi State), and spending time with family, friends and my sweet dog, Piper.

I have taught many different levels of secondary mathematics including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus BC. At the collegiate level, I taught College Algebra. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, researching math topics, and exercising. Marietta Liebengood

    Upper School Spanish Teacher

    Texas Christain University
    B.S.

Year Started at TST - 2010

    Bio

Prior to teaching, I was a reporter for Dos Mundos bilingual newspaper and served as a campus minister for the University of Kansas. I spent several years abroad where I served as a missionary in Chile and Costa Rica for five years, lived in Scotland for 3 years, and spent summer stints in Argentina and Italy. I have the joy and privilege of traveling with Trinity students to Costa Rica and Spain. I love to take students to Spanish-speaking countries to expose them to different cultures and customs. I’ve had the honor of teaching Kindergarten through 12th grade, and I hope my students are inspired to continue learning Spanish and blessing others through the gift of being bilingual. In my free time, my favorite thing to do is to spend time with my husband Kelly and our Trinity Titans Chloe, Caleb, Caedmon, and Campbell. I also enjoy serving with One Hope Presbyterian Church and For the Silent.

    Tovah Robertson

    Upper School Social Studies Teacher

    Howard Payne University
    B.a.

Year Started at TST - 2016

    Bio

Before teaching at TST, I taught US History, AP US History, and World History at Longview High School for two years. I am certified by the State of Texas to teach history to students in grades 8-12. I also hold the State’s Social Studies Composite certification for grades 8-12.

As the child of a US Army captain, I had the privilege of living and traveling throughout the United States and Europe. During my father’s service, my family lived in Oklahoma, Texas, New Jersey, and two different regions of Germany. Indeed, I have lived in my home in Longview longer than I have lived anywhere else! My upbringing nurtured in me a deep love and appreciation for history. As a result, I love teaching what I love to the next generation. I try to inject as many of my trips and personal experiences into my instruction as I can because I know that doing so makes history a little more meaningful for the students. History IS and CAN BE fun!

My son started kindergarten at TST this year, and I am fortunate to be on the same campus with him. My husband, my son, and I have been members at Trinity Episcopal Church since 2013, and we value the partnership between the church and the school. We love to travel in our free time, especially to any of our wonderful National Parks.

I am beyond happy and blessed to start my coaching and teaching career here at Trinity. I did my student observations here and I loved it ever since. I graduated from Letourneau University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I played on the basketball team for Letourneau as well. I was born and raised in Crosby, Texas (20 minutes outside of Houston), with two older brothers and one younger sister. My mom and father taught me the true definition of working hard and treating everyone with respect. I plan to pass down those same values to students I teach in Physical Education and coach in basketball, football and track.

After TST, I attended Southern Methodist University. I graduated from SMU with Bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and History. Upon graduation, I went to Washington, D.C. to work for Congressman Ralph Hall whom I first met when he came and spoke to our class in seventh grade at TST. Working on Capitol Hill was one of the most immensely rewarding and valuable experiences of my life. Next, I attended law school at the University of Houston. I graduated in 2003, and I was sworn in to the Texas Bar later that year. I lived and worked in Dallas following law school. I specialized in writing health care policy. I continued my education at the University of Texas at Dallas and received a B.S. in Health Care Studies in order to augment my law degree. During this time, I started to become involved with TST as an alumnus. I became President of the TST Alumni Association. I was extremely excited to be back at the school that had given so much to me. After I moved back to Longview in 2015, I became even more involved in the school as a volunteer. I have always been grateful to TST for its influence on my life. I will never be able to pay back all those who helped to make my TST experience great, but I hope that I can help to keep the TST experience great for future generations of TST students.

After marrying Doug “Happy” Sapp, we moved to Longview and started our family in Spring Hill, where I continued to teach Special Education and second grade for 23 years. My daughter Reagan and son-in-law Eddie live in Longview and keep us busy with new adventures and summer travel. I enjoy cooking new dishes, party planning for friends, and traveling to new destinations. As an educator and member of Trinity Episcopal Church for the last six years, I am thankful for the opportunity to serve TST. Year Started at TST - 2017

    Bio

I am a graduate of Texas Christian University with a BFA in Graphic Design.
My career paths have ranged from the world of advertising to public and private
art teacher for middle and high school students. When I am not teaching, creating,
or designing, you can often find me training for another half marathon or cooking up
something tasty for my boys (my husband Jim and my son Logan). Coffee, indie music,
and enjoying the great outdoors keep me balanced.

Art and design are a part of our everyday lives and I love introducing students to the creative
process as well as the power visual communication has to shape ideas and culture. Whether
students choose a career path in art and design or would like to strengthen their problem
solving skills, it's my joy to be a part of their journey.

I started my 30th year here at TST in October. During my early years at Trinity, I worked in a few different areas, including serving as the Director of Extended Day. Those times were so different than it is now. When I first started teaching at Trinity, the school only went to 5th grade. It has been exciting to see all the changes take place and see this school grow into the excellent school that we are today. Each day I am seeing the children of students whom I had in my extended day classes years ago. It makes me feel old, but I know they love Trinity as I do. This is the best place!!
Growing up in Minnesota and coming to Longview in 1982, I have a love for lakes, plants and nature. In my spare time, I decorate and operate a small decorating business. I love to spend time with my husband and two sons and family. I get great joy in watching my three granddaughters in softball and basketball. They are growing up so fast.
